It is well known that the degree of a parent's involvement in a child's education is directly related to a child's success. We want to start the habit of being involved in your child's education at a young age. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved here at Good Shepherd.
Room Parents - Each class has a room parent who works with the teacher to plan events throughout the year, connect with parents to build family among them, provide a link to the larger Parent Council, etc. This role is a vital link in communication to all parents in the program.
Parent Council - Our program has an active group of parents who meet monthly to plan for school wide events (i.e. fundraisers, teacher appreciation, recycling program, etc.). The members of the council also coordinate with a group of parents who have volunteered for specific events to make sure that they happen as planned.
Parent Events - We invite parents into our program throughout the year for special parent events. We have a Fall Family Picnic, Doughnuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, Spring Ice Cream Social, Christmas Program, etc. These are times that we cherish having our extended preschool family all together to celebrate children and families. Beyond this, parents are invited to share in the classroom any hobbies or careers that they have which may be of interest to the children.
